Local Woman Chosen for Leadership Minnesota
Prior Lake American - October 2006
Prior Lake resident Susan Bjork was recently selected to be one of 30 business leaders from across the state to participate in Leadership Minnesota, a Minnesota Chamber of Commerce annual program that addresses the economic and public policy issues of Minnesota businesses.
Bjork and other participants will travel the state for five two-day sessions in which they will learn about various industries.
On Nov. 9-10 the group will visit Bloomington-based Health Partners' public relations office in St. Paul to speak with corporate officials about the economic impact the company makes on the state's economy and the challenges the business faces, said Jennifer Munyer, manager of membership retention for the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.
"I think it will be a great opportunity to network with other businesses and to gain knowledge of other industries," said Bjork, a human resources director and consultant at Lancet Software Development in Burnsville.
The goal of the program is to educate Minnesota business leaders and to help them understand industries outside of their own, Munyer said.
